We'd love you to join us for a short break to beautiful Speyside where we will be surrounded by some of the very best wildlife watching areas in the Scottish highlands.
Iconic Red Squirrel
On our tour to this dramatic part of the world, we will visit some of the most reknowned bird- and wildlife-watching sites in the UK. We will visit the famous RSPB reserve at Loch Garten where Crested Tits are resident in these ancient pine forests and red squirrels are regularly seen, and who knows, we may encounter an elusive Capercaillie . We will also visit the beautiful Findhorn valley nearby, which is famous for its Golden Eagles and large numbers of red deer. On another day we may take the train to the top of Cairngorm Mountain to admire the spectacular views, clouds permitting, and may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive Ptarmigan.
Red Grouse watching us watching it
Of course, as well as Red Squirrels and Red Deer, this area also has some other charismatic mammals and we hope to encounter these on our tour. On one evening, we will visit a hide where badgers regularly come in to feed and with luck perhaps a pine martin will put in an appearance too. We will also visit a nearby estuary where Bottlenose Dolphins are regularly seen very close inshore as they chase the fish in the shallow waters.

We are sure you will love the area with its wild scenery and spectacular wildlife. We will be staying in a lovely, traditional hotel we have used before, which has comfortable rooms and offers excellent breakfasts and evening meals focusing on local produce. As we know first-hand, the bar also has a wonderful selection of single malt whiskies from around Speyside and beyond, so we may enjoy a wee dram or two in the evening!
