The Biggest Twitch goes Off to India
The Biggest Twitch goes off to India!
When the Indian Tourist Authority invited us to attend the inaugural Global Bird Watchers' Conference in Gujarat as speakers, of course we couldn't say no. Talking on the subject of 'Conservation through Eco-Tourism', this was such a fabulous opportunity to be able to share with a wider audience our experiences of eco-tourism and how it can benefit wildlife. We'll be talking about the great conservation projects we encountered on The Biggest Twitch in 2008 as well as sharing our experiences as RSPB staff on just what it takes to make a successful project that raises the profile of conservation, attracts an audience, and most importantly, benefits the wildlife too.
We're really looking forward to meeting dedicated conservationists from all over the world to see what we can learn, and of course we wouldn't be The Biggest Twitch if we didn't take every opportunity to go birding too!
We're not sure what internet access will be like, but we'll be updating the blog whenever possible, and posting on twitter (biggesttwitch) and Facebook (Alan Davies) too, to share our adventures, and of course we'll write a good round-up when we're back home!
