The Glorious 12 August not if you are bird
The Glorious 12 August - not if you're a bird

If you go up to the moors today you had better go in disguise, at least if your a Red Grouse or a Hen Harrier! Today, the 12th August, sees the opening salvoes of the grouse killing season. Because a few people want to kill grouse we have next to no Hen Harriers on our moors, killed by the gamekeepers that are paid to produce a super abundance of Red Grouse for the guns. The Hen Harrier is public enemy number one on most grouse moors, why? Because they take some grouse, of course they do! They are birds of prey and they have been presented with an abundance of prey in their home range. So why does this give the gamekeepers and their agents the right to break the law of the land and kill these totally protected birds? It does not and we have had enough of this illegal killing, it must stop and it will stop!

If you agree that Hen Harriers should not be killed please stand up and fight for them. One way you can show your support is to sign Mark Avery's petition to ban driven grouse shooting, not all grouse shooting, but driven shoots where most of the problems occur. Please take a few minutes and sign here...

Thank you! Hen Harriers will fly over our moors again if we stand up and fight.
