Spring is springing as migrants arrive

Spring is here! Migrant birds are coming in as high pressure brings warm weather and light winds. Wheatears have been seen at RSPB South Stack, Anglesey and on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd today. Bardsey also had a Black Redstart new in today and it is very likely more birds are soon to follow given the good weather forecast. In mid-Wales an Osprey was seen coming in off the sea near Aberystwth where Whimbrel and Sandwich Terns were also new arrivals. In Lancashire a Sand Martin was at Brockholes Nature Reserve and further afield Hoopoes were seen in Kent and County Cork! Bring on the birds!
