Something for the weekend?
We are giving two talks this coming weekend at the Conwy Feast event, which surprise, surprise is taking place in Conwy. This annual event celebrates food and the joy of eating so we should really enjoy ourselves. Much of the action takes place on the lovely quayside with views of the medieval Conwy Castle and the adjacent Conwy Estuary. Our talks take place in the “Book Tent” at mid-day on both the Saturday, 24th, and Sunday 25th.
Ruth is first up, on the Saturday, talking about her new books “Birds, Boots and Butties” which detail great birding walks and where to end them for a great cuppa and cake. The talk will focus on Ruth’s favourite walks and her favourite cakes! Some wonderful photos of the birds and mouth watering images of cakes, great combination! Then on the Sunday we both present a talk on “Birding and eating around the world” in which we reminisce about our travels during The Biggest Twitch and recall the high and very lows of the food we encountered and of course some of the very best birds we saw. A rather different talk from anything we have done before, so should be great fun. While we are on the subject of up and coming talks we are giving another talk at RSPB Conwy on Friday the 11th December at 7pm. The talk will be about our adventures during The Biggest Twitch but we are putting together lots of new images and stories to share with you. Contact the reserve now to reserve your seat, space limited! There will also be the chance to register for your signed copy of the forth coming book “The Biggest Twitch” the print run for the first edition will be limited and demand is already high so if you don’t want to miss out come along and guarantee your signed copy.
