Photos from RSPB Minsmere Suffolk

View across the reserve towards Island Mere, look very hard and might see one of six Marsh Harriers over the reedbed, or maybe not?!

We had not been at the reserve long when a Cattle Egret flapped past us! Luckily it was relocated by other birders on The Levels but was always distant, so no photos.

This Red Deer hind allowed a close approach near the car park.

View across Minsmere's vast reedbeds

Ruth tries some arty stuff, can you tell the birding was a little slow?

The scrape at Minsmere - spot any birds? We didn't!

Lovely light though!!

Lunch with Ruth's aunt Thelma, trouble with Ruth is she never knows when to stop talking!!

Great name for a pub, but we walked on by, honest.

We met this lovely Grass Snake on the path near Island Mere hide.

Anyone know who these two are? We did have a quick look in the book back at the visitor centre but left confused, and we thought warblers were tricky!!
We did enjoy some great birds including our Cattle Egret, Marsh Harriers, Bearded Tits, Dartford Warblers, Turtle Dove and loads of Green Woodpeckers but sadly none posed for the camera.
If you are in North Wales this weekend pop in at RSPB Conwy and help celebrate 100 years of the RSPB in Wales. We will be at the reserve both Saturday and Sunday so pop in and say hello!
