Out in the sunshine locally
We went down to Conwy RSPB this morning, and joined the other visitors to the reserve as we slithered along the surprisingly slippery paths. There were plenty of Lapwing on the islands, Gadwall and Shoveller showed on the lagoons and Snipe roosted on the edge of the reeds. We tried again to set up a photo of the tame Robin coming down to feed on a walking boot as a cover photo for Ruth's next walking book, but sadly he didn't feel like co-operating today. Back in the coffee shop, a Curlew showed off right in front of the windows as it marched around in the rough grass, probing the thawing soil for food.In the afternoon, we did a quick walk on the Great Orme, where this handsome male Stonechat showed off on a rock above the Happy Valley.Back at home, things are less jolly as our central heating has broken down again! Thank heavens for our kind neighbours who have lent us an electric fire to keep us warm.
