Norfolk January 2014
We headed east for our annual January Norfolk birding trip - always lots of anticipation as we near the County line. Just into Norfolk and we came across lots of swans feeding in fields, so of course we stopped for a look.

A careful look through the many Whooper Swans picked out a Bewick's.

Nice comparison with the Bewick's in front of a Whooper.

Just around the corner we had a shock when we met this!

The water was over the road and the signs said "Road Closed".

Having watched this we gave it a go and luckily just got through, whew!

The whole group met up on the east side of the flood, at Welney WWT.

This interesting gull was feeding in front of the main observatory.

Helen picked out this Ruddy Duck, unexpected year tick!

Alan spotted three Common Cranes in flight, luckily they landed in view.
More from Norfolk to come soon....
