When we visited Finland last year to give a talk on The Biggest Twitch, we met up with writer and birder Ari Linna. Ari was working on a book about twitching, a series of short articles written by primarily Finnish twitchers on what they’d twitched and what it had meant to them. He asked us if we’d be interested in submitting a short piece on The Biggest Twitch and of course, we said yes.
So imagine our delight to receive several copies of the finished (or should that be ‘Finnished’?) book, Bongauksen Hurma. It looks great, beautiful colour illustrations on the cover, and black-and-white line drawings inside. Now our Finnish isn’t that good, so Ari had kindly translated our article for us, and with a bit of searching we found it together with a drawing of a Tarkkailimme harpyijaa, or Harpy Eagle, our most-wanted bird of the year.
So, thank you Ari, we feel privileged to be asked to contribute to this wonderful book and we wish you every success with it.
Our own book on The Biggest Twitch is still in the hands of the publishers, but if you’d like to reserve a special signed copy on publication, please contact us on info@thebiggesttwitch.com
