Bluff Point Santee Walk
Day two at the Santee Birding and Wildlife Festival and we out in the cool of dawn to lead another guided walk with Dave and Suzanne.

Scanning the scrub for lots of birds as the morning mist lifts.

A Wild Turkey stalked through the woodland

A stunning Blue Grosbeak vied for attention with hundreds of Bobolinks

You have to look where you are putting your feet here!

This one is a whopper!

American Coots shared a pond with Lesser Scaup, Ring necked Ducks and Purple Gallinules

Ruth spotted movement in the reeds and out popped a King Rail

Luckily the rail stayed in the open for all to enjoy

It had been an amazing morning with so many great birds and company. The Dyer family were so enthusiatic about every bird we saw, a joy to be in the field with and so good to see young birders soaking up the birds.
