Thankfully the Black Duck is still on the Conwy Estuary this morning and showing very well, with a good telescope, from the Glan Conwy railway station platform.Glad to say Ruth saw the bird yesterday after work. Rob Sandham and Alan relocated the Black Duck at Glan Conwy around 6pm after it had been flushed by canoeists at 3.30pm and went missing! Ruth just rolled up at 6.05 and stepped from the car to see it at fairly close range, best views of the day.The Black Duck was easy to see this morning just off the station with a drake Mallard which was displaying to the Black Duck? So maybe the bird is a female? Or a gay Mallard? The bill colour looks greyish in the better light this morning but the body feathers are very dark for a female, perhaps a first-winter male? A Black Duck though of what ever sex!
