Birdwatching on the Lleyn
Birdwatching on the Lleyn Peninsula

We headed west with Simon and Sean, first stop Cricceth.

Then way out west to Porth Meudwy.

A real Autumn feel to the day.

Not much has changed here in a long time.

But there is always one has to have the latest kit!

The migrants were tricky to photograph but this Rock Pipit posed.

Out onto Uwchmynydd Headland over-looking Bardsey Island for more migrants.

More signs of Autumn, that is a 50p coin next to the toadstool!

Aberdaron village offered shelter from the wind and lunch.

A Pied Wagtail on the bridge over the Afon Daron.

What a view from Simon and Sean's cottage in the hills above Caernarfon!
A great day with great company.
Some of the bird highlights included Yellow-browed Warbler, lots of Swallows, Wheatears, Goldcrests, Chough, Rock Pipits, Gannets, Guillemot, Razorbill, Common Snipe, Bar-tailed Godwit, Mediterranean Gull, over 100 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, thousands of Wigeon, Goosanders and Red-breasted Merganser side by side, all in stunning scenery, if a little windy!
