Plans are progressing well for our two digi-scoping workshops to be held on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th April. We’ve teamed up with Paul Hackett, one of the UK’s leading bird digi-scopers to offer a series of workshops to help you discover the best tips and techniques to improve your own digi-scoping. Paul has been at the forefront of the digi-scoping revolution and has pioneered many of the techniques and best practices used with great success today. His work has been widely published in all the leading birding journals such as Birding World and Birdwatch, Dutch Birding and British Birds, and his bird images and footage have been used by both regional and national news services. Perhaps Paul’s most famous image was his portrait of the pair of Bee-eaters that bred in County Durham in 2002 that made it onto the front cover of the Daily Telegraph. A regular at the British Birdwatching Fair, Paul has held many digi-scoping lectures and field demonstrations and organised what is thought to be the world’s first digi-scoping holiday to Extremadura, Spain in 2005. Just take a look at this amazing photo of a Red Kite to see the kind of magic that Paul can achieve with his camera and scope. And the aim of the digi-scoping workshops is to share some of his tips and techniques to help you improve your digi-scoping results. We know it’ll be a great day, with tutorials on the theory and practical sessions in the field to try out what you’ve been taught, all held in the beautiful surroundings of Pensychnant Nature Reserve in Conwy, a private reserve with mixed woodland supporting a range of great birdlife including Pied Flycatcher and Common Redstart. Response has already been very good, but we still have plenty of space left on both Satuday 17th and Sunday 18th, so if you’re interested in booking your place on either day, please contact us asap on info@thebiggesttwitch.com.
