Another visit to Penrhyn Bay beach to soak up more views of the two male Snow Buntings. Both birds showed off in the warm sunshine, one even singing, the birds are feeding on seed put down by local birders and are very confiding. An unexpected record here was a Yellowhammer flying west overhead calling, can not remember the last local one of these we saw. Off shore Kittiwakes and Razorbills were feeding on the flat calm sea and Fulmars could be seen gliding around the cliff faces of the Little Orme to the west. A Rock Pipit flew in and joined the buntings displaying and singing on the sea defence wall.News from elsewhere shows that spring is advancing nicely with a Hoopoe seen on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd, a pair of Garganey at Seaforth LWT reserve on Merseyside and an Osprey in Lancashire.Would you like to come birding with The Biggest Twitch?
