Our new 2010 calendars proved a real hit with the members of the University of London Convocation Liverpool group to whom we gave a talk today. We were invited to talk about The Biggest Twitch at The Grange on The Wirral at the annual lunch of this group, which has a variety of activities throughout the year. After being entertained to a tasty 3-course lunch, it was our turn to entertain the group which we did with an hour’s presentation on our big year in 2008. Once we’d got over Friday 13th gremlins of our laptop crashing in dramatic style, the projector not talking the laptop and the screen folding itself up behind us while we talked, we got into the swing of things and amused the group with our tales and anecdotes of birding around the world. At least, they laughed in all the right places so we assume they enjoyed the talk, and they certainly had plenty of interesting questions for us.We’d also brought along a number of limited edition 2010 Biggest Twitch calendars. Each month, we feature a picture of a stunning bird that we’d seen in that month in 2008 and a snippet of background information about the bird. These calendars sold like hot cakes. In fact, they proved so popular that we completely sold out. So now, we’re working on another limited edition run of Biggest Twitch 2010 calendars which we will be selling at all our talks. But if you’d like to make sure you get your copy of the new Biggest Twitch 2010 calendar, drop us an email to find out how to obtain your copy by post.
