A ton of birds in North Wales
A ton of birds in North Wales
We met Brian, David and Jason very early and we were soon on the moors. Luckily the massive snow drifts that had blocked the roads for weeks had finally gone. As the light came up we were treated to an amazing display by the Black Grouse.

Everyone should see this amazing spectacle at least once, it really is one of THE bird spectacles in the world, not a doubt about it.
We continued to bird the uplands and were rewarded with not one but two male Hen Harriers flying together in the morning sun, simply stunning. Red Grouse, Redstart, Pied Flycatcher and Crossbill all added to an already amazing morning.

As we dropped off the moors we stopped to watch Dippers, at two spots, where these lovely birds really showed off.
The full breakfast tasted extra good today after such an array of wonderful birds in stunning scenery and sunshine. A male Yellowhammer outside the window added to the pleasure.
The day just went on in the same theme, more great birds. We watched a pair of Goshawks soaring overhead and we watched them for ages. A Red Kite drifted over in the sun. Hawfinches posed filling the scope. A Ring Ouzel bounced around a grass field.
What a day! Over one hundred species of bird enjoyed with plenty of time to enjoy them all.
Come and join us soon for the very best of birdwatching.
