Where are we going Part 4
Where are we going? Part 4

In mid January we will be birding on familiar ground in Ecuador and hopefully really boosting the year list, where better? It will be great to revisit sites such as Yanacocha, on the slopes of the Pichincha Volcano above Quito. Here we should see such delights as Scarlet bellied Mountain-Tanager, Shining sunbeam Hummingbird and if our luck is really in the very rare Black-breasted Puffleg.
We are also looking forward to visiting new areas of Ecuador in particular the famous Sacha Lodge in the Amazon. Sacha has an incredible list of mouth watering species possible. In particular the long canopy walkway will gives us amazing views of feeding flocks at eye-level. It will be a real challenge to sort through the colourful gangs of aracaris, oropendolas, brilliant tanagers and much more! But what rewards await! Then we can look forward to canoeing through flooded jungle picking off even more new birds. As dusk falls the birding doesn’t stop, Crested, Black-banded, and Spectacled Owls are all here to find and with the help of the expert Sacha guides perhaps Great, Common or Long-tailed Potoos. I think they will have to drag us away from here!
