Mutinondo to Nyika National Park
22nd September
A very long drive. We left Mutinondo before dawn and headed for the Malawi border. A refuelling stop gave us a fine flock of Madagascar Bee-eaters. As we neared the border a stretch of Miombo woodland held a feeding flock amongst which was a Green-backed ( or Little Spotted ) Woodpecker. We finally reached Nyika NP in Malawi after dark and twelve hours and twenty minutes after we set off!
