Moving on to Kalimpong, Northeast India
20th November - a lost day due to a severe bout of Delhi Belly! But luckily it was a day of thick fog and rain. Peter and Hari again went out in search of Cheer Pheasants but again drew a blank due to the appalling weather, and soon returned to camp to sit by the fire and drink tea! The only thing the day was fit for. One advantage of being room-bound: Mountain Scops Owl calling from the trees just outside our cabin. We left Jungle Lore at Pangkot late afternoon for a long drive down the mountain to the railway station at Kathgdom for an overnight train to Delhi - quite an experience!21st November - arrived in Delhi at 5am to the bustling chaos of the station, this place never sleeps! Transferred to a hotel for a whole 2 1/2 hours to freshen up before heading to the airport and an internal flight to Baghdogra, northeast India, passing Mount Everest on the way! The plane was delayed so by the time we reached Peter's home in Kalimpong it was well after dark.22nd November - time to recover after sickness and travel, never a good combination! But with the extremely kind hospitality shown to us by Peter and his family we're now ready to face the world again. It also gave us an excellent chance to catch up with emails and the website. Out again tomorrow at 4.30am to boost the list in this new area.Bird species list: 4058Posted 22nd November, Kalimpong, NE India
