Portugal Birding from mountains to coast
Portugal Birding from mountains to coast
Our brilliant birding in Portugal continues as we explored a real range of habitats from up in the mountains at 900m, to the stunning red cliffs of the most south-westerly corner of Europe and also an area of coastal lagoon. Highlight birds included:
Blue Rock Thrush, Rock Bunting and Ring Ouzel at altitude; migrating Osprey, Chough, Thekla Lark, Black Redstart at the coast; and Caspian & Sandwich Terns, Greater Flamingoes, Iberian Yellow Wagtail and Black-winged Kite at the lagoon. And to cap off a wonderful day's birding, freshly-arrived Bee-eaters on the wires on our drive home. Fantastic!
