Ecuador comes to Blackburn Lancashire
A huge thank you to the Blackburn and District Bird Club for their very warm welcome last night. We travelled north to talk to the club about birding in Ecuador - The Amazon to the Andes.
Ecuador is a bird filled country with over 1,600 species recorded in an area about the same size as the UK! We have been lucky to visit this stunning land on many occassions and have enjoyed spectacular birds on each visit, from the Amazon basin to the snow-capped heights of the Andes.
Birding in the cloudforst at Tandayapa Bird Lodge a magical place.
A Blue-winged Mountain Tanager just one of many stunning tanagers.
The hummers at the lodge show rather well, Buff-tailed Coronet.
What a gorgous little bird, Booted-racket-tail Hummingbird.
Crimson-rumped Toucanet from the terrace at Tandayapa.
